Our Treatments.
Exercise Rehabilitation
To help individuals recover from an injury, illness, or surgery through exercise and physical activity. The goal of exercise rehabilitation is to improve physical function, reduce pain, and restore mobility and strength to the affected area.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling is where a fine needle is inserted into a muscle to release a trigger point - It is NOT acupuncture.
Needling can help to release tension and promote blood flow which can reduce pain, improve mobility and promote healing. It is often used to treat a variety of conditions, including muscle strains, joint pain, headaches, and chronic pain.
Muscle Imbalance Testing
Identify muscle imbalances or weaknesses in the body. It typically involves a series of physical assessments to evaluate the strength and flexibility of various muscle groups in the body.
Posture Alignment
Get an evaluation on your posture or alignment of the body in a static position, such as standing or sitting. It involves a series of physical assessments to identify any postural deviations or misalignments that can potentially lead to pain, discomfort, or injury.
Gait Analysis
Gait Analysis is a comprehensive assessment of an individual's walking pattern. It involves the evaluation of posture, joint range of motion, strength and flexibility, as well as the ability to maintain balance. A Biokineticist will use state-of-the-art video analysis equipment to accurately assess an individual's gait and identify any areas of weakness, imbalance or injury risk. Gait Analysis is an essential tool for helping individuals improve their walking pattern and reduce their risk of injury.
Our Team.
Hello I am Emma, the owner of Total Body Rehab.
I’m so fortunate to be able to have this practice, an experienced team and client base that feels like family. I love being hands on & giving clients value for money but most importantly, my focus is on getting to the root cause of their physical issues. I love finding out where symptoms are coming from rather than just providing symptomatic treatment.

I hold a Bachelors & Masters Degree in Sport Science as well as Honours Degree in Biokinetics from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and have over 18 years of experiences working with musculoskeletal conditions both in RSA and NZ. Dry Needling is my specialty which has really revolutionized the way I work.

My husband, our 3 girls (+ many pets) and myself now call NZ home, being citizens we feel very grateful living here.
Caring for clients is my core value & if I can’t help, I’ll try find someone that can! Too often I see clients that haven't been treated holistically or those who are still dealing with an injury they have had for years.

Lizz Paterson
Massage Therapist
Hi, I'm Liz from Brazil. I am a professional massage therapist and I studied massage in São Paulo.
My interest in massage began many years ago when I was suffering from a sciatic issue that massage helped me to resolve. I was amazed at the benefits I saw using our hands for massage therapy so I began my journey studying and learning as much as I could to fully understand the practice.
I have 13 years experience & specialise in Zen Shiatsu, Lymphatic Drainage, Deep Tissue Massage, Cupping, Bamboo Therapy and more.
Massage brings me a lot of joy and I feel grateful to be able to work alongside my clients to improve their health & wellbeing through this practice.
